Unknown recipe – 11/2015
Through my research I deepened into stories of my own family. My fascination about how the faces of the different generation in my family are so alike, my grandmothers, my mothers and my face. My fascination about how little I actually know about their lives but at the same time knowing how much we are alike.
This same uniformity can be find in the food we all cook. For example, my grandmothers recipe for the meatballs, which has been passed over through generations. The recipe which actually has never exist, but which has been learned through the ability of observation.
The non existing recipe is the passed over ability of observing and mixing ingredients, ingredients based on intuition. With unnoticed changes throughout the generations, we all make the same slightly different. While it remains transforming throughout time.
